SunRay Contracting is an Austin commercial general contractor with its own millwork and steel fabrication shop. We’re small enough to be fast and creative, and organized enough to communicate, manage, document and deliver.

Our story

Built, not bought.

Owner Peter Verloop brings more than 25 years of commercial and restaurant construction to every SunRay job. He founded the company in 2018 on a simple idea: a general contractor should be able to build the custom work itself, not farm it out and hope it shows up right.

So SunRay runs its own shop with two CNC machines, a plasma cutter for steel and a router for wood and more. A 12-person team keeps jobs moving, and the owner stays hands-on from the first walk-through to the final punch list.

We’re a member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, and we build commercial only, no residential.

Millwork and steel come out of our own shop, so quality and schedule stay in our hands, not a sub’s.

Everything's documented

Shop drawings get reviewed in-house before you see them, revisions are tracked, and daily logs run in JobTread.
